Are you putting off orthodontic treatment because of your age? At AAA Orthodontics, we see patients for early treatment around the age of seven all the way through to adults. It’s never too early or late to start your teeth straightening journey.
Braces for kids
Early treatment with AAA Orthodontics can significantly decrease the severity and cost of later orthodontic work by correcting teeth and jaw development early. It may even prevent the need for braces or other orthodontic work altogether.
Generally, we are concerned with correcting the bite of children who may have disproportionate jaw sizes or over, cross or underbites. We do this by using removable plates, fixed appliances or functional appliances, depending on the specific need. Children’s mouths and jaws are still developing and, therefore, they respond well to early treatments.

Before the age of 20, when teeth set firmly in place, the teeth and jaws are still in a malleable condition which makes them ideal for orthodontic treatment. This doesn’t mean that teeth straightening is prohibited after this age, it is simply the best time in terms of efficiency.
We offer a range of treatment options for our teen patients. Depending on their individual assessment, teen patients may be interested in more discreet options as these years are crucial in the development of healthy self-esteem. More discreet options include clear braces made with clear brackets and Invisalign, a set of clear aligners that fit over teeth in a similar manner to a very thin mouthguard or teeth whitening tray and lingual braces, which sit on the back side of the teeth.

At AAA Orthodontics, we understand the desire for straight teeth as an adult may also be mixed with embarrassment about receiving treatment later in life as well as discomfort about wearing bulky metal braces. We completely believe that all patients should have the chance at the smile of their dreams – no matter their age – and will endeavour to make all of our adult patients feel as comfortable as possible throughout the entire process.
Many of our adult patients prefer to look into invisible or clear options as a more discreet method of treatment. This allows minimal interference with work and lifestyle commitments.
