Undergo orthodontic treatment – the invisible way
Invisalign can be used as a treatment option for irregular, crowded or spaced teeth. It can also help with alignment problems such as overbites, underbites and crossbites.
How does it work?
Like traditional braces, the custom-made aligners are fitted and gently apply pressure to the teeth allowing them to slowly move into their new positions. During the treatment, you will receive a new set of aligners which will work differently each time to slightly adjust the positioning of your teeth. Every two weeks, you will be required to switch to a new set of aligners to allow for the repositioning and straightening of the teeth.
You will be required to wear the aligners for at least 22 hours per day (depending on the treatment plan and your dentist’s recommendations).
The process at AAA Orthodontics
During your initial consultation, your orthodontist will take impressions and x-rays of your teeth. Once these have been completed, both will be sent off to Invisalign HQ where the aligners will be made.
Here at AAA Orthodontics, we use advanced technology called ‘Clincheck’ that allows us to make sure that the suggested treatment plan the best option for your current situation. One benefit of using ‘Clincheck’ is that you get to see what your teeth will be like after each stage of treatment, even before you receive your aligners back from Invisalign HQ. From this, you can get realistic expectations for your results.
Depending on your current situation and the complexity of the case, you may receive 2 to 3 sets of aligners at a time and attend regular check-ups every 6 weeks.
Benefits with Invisalign
- Removable – Allows being removed for special occasions like photos and continue to maintain your oral health.
- No special diet – Unlike traditional braces where you have to eat certain foods, with Invisalign you can continue to eat all of your favourite foods including tough meat, sweets and be able to chew chewing gum.
- Appearance – Traditional metal braces are often regarded as being unattractive. Invisalign allows you to undergo orthodontic treatment while being able to smile.
